The ESP KTN kindly asked us to make you aware of the following "meet the buyer"
event. Buyers from 3 of the largest European Research Facilities
are coming to the UK to explain the opporutnities in the electrical sector and ti meet suitable UK companies. Event's information:
Novotel Hotel, London Heathrow, 27 September 2011 A special event for companies that supply electrical engineering, controls and power management.
STFC is holding a networking event so that UK companies can meet the buyers from some of the world's leading research organisations - CERN, ISIS and ILL. The opportuntiy is to make personal contact with the buyers and to discuss their future requirements. First allocation of one-to-one interviews on 6th September! Register now to avoid disappointment: http://www.stfc.ac.uk/36123.aspx Final allocation of interview slots and registration closing date: 16th September STFC in association with UKTI will be hosting a Meet the Buyer event on “Electrical engineering, controls and power management” on the 27th September.
This event will bring together facilities specialists and companies in the sector of Electrical Engineering. Technical and procurement staff from ISIS, Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) and CERN will present the requirements of their facilities in the morning. In the afternoon, facilities and selected companies can have one-to-one interviews. There is no charge to attend this meeting. This will be an excellent opportunity to make contact with key representatives from the facilities in your field.
The facilities have real opportunities including for CERN:
*
installation of electrical substations *
overhaul of the electrical network protection system *
Static uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) *
48 VDC switch-mode, rack mounted, high-reliability battery chargers The facilities have written short texts on the companies they would like to meet (attached).
Companies will be asked to provide 100 - 200 words on their specialism when they register so that the facilities can choose which companies they would like to have a one-to-one meeting with.
Feedback from similar past events included: “I have attended similar events and this was the most efficient so far.” “As a small business, it is often very difficult to justify the time out to attend conferences and networking events. This was exactly what we needed, it was very well organised, focused with all the key contacts we were looking for in attendance. It was great to see familiar faces and to meet new contacts.” “I have now made contact with several new potential customers” “The event was an excellent ice-breaker for companies like ours who wish to grow and develop new markets.” “Met a number of other UK companies who may be interested in partnering in the future and received prior information on a relevant market survey by talking to the CERN representative over lunchtime.” Other facilities will also be attending to inform companies about potential future work in these sectors more informally throughout the afternoon. If you would like to attend, please register at: http://www.stfc.ac.uk/36123.aspx
